I collaborated with R-coat, an innovative company committed to addressing the staggering 1 billion umbrellas discarded in landfills annually. They repurpose umbrella fabric to create stylish rain jackets, hats, and bags. Inspired by their mission, I was invited to artistically utilize their surplus fabric scraps to craft a compelling art piece, aimed at highlighting the non-recyclable nature of umbrellas.
Introducing "Umbrella Brains," a humble yet captivating art piece that dares to be different. Drawing inspiration from Rcoat's charming retro-meets-modern vintage vibes, this creation humbly weaves together various umbrella elements, like metal ribs and tips, into a multi-dimensional masterpiece. It quietly hopes to shed light on sustainability and the environmental impact of discarded umbrellas, gently inviting viewers to reconsider their everyday choices.
